Introduce process for binding referendums
One example of better governance would mean developing our legislative framework such that the people are provided the opportunity to be more involved. Referendums are a likely answer, though it is important that people understand what referendums are and the process which could be followed. Certainly one would be well advised to avoid the California model, it has been an disaster. The Swiss model on the other hand has been a shining success that has worked well for over a century. Introduce proportional representation for seats in parliament
Division of seats in parliament should be reflective over the overall popular vote, not simply first past the post. Adjusting our parliamentary system to support proportional representation would give new parties a fighting chance and balance our democracy for the better

We could reduce the number of cars on the island by introducing legislation to allow car sharing companies like zipcar.com to form in Bermuda

Migrate government vehicles to alternative energy
GP cars, vans, busses, eventually ferries should all be transitioned to smaller vehicles that use alternative and sustainable power sources. I would suggest, smaller busses, but more of them. Schools should have school busses.
